MediaTek MT7921, MT7922 and MT7925 Wi-Fi driver

Latest driver

Which MediaTek card do you have?

• MT7922 (Wi-Fi 6E, sold as AMD RZ616): PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0616
• MT7921 (Wi-Fi 6): PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_7961
• MT7921K (Wi-Fi 6E, sold as AMD RZ608): PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_0608
• MT7925 (Wi-Fi 7): PCI\VEN_14C3&DEV_7925

These cards are common in AMD Ryzen laptops and mini PCs. Laptop makers often label the adapter as "AMD RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E 160MHz" in Device Manager. It is the same MediaTek chip and uses the same driver.

Install the driver

1. Install the latest driver from this page and restart.
2. If Wi-Fi does not appear after a clean Windows install, install the AMD chipset driver first, then the Wi-Fi driver.
3. Bluetooth on these combo cards is a separate USB device and needs the MediaTek Bluetooth driver from the laptop maker or Windows Update.

Troubleshooting

• Frequent disconnects: update to the newest driver, and in the adapter's Advanced tab try setting Preferred band to 5 GHz.
• 6 GHz networks not visible: 6 GHz requires Windows 11 and a Wi-Fi 6E/7 router.

Linux supports these cards with the mt7921e (MT7921/MT7922) and mt7925e (MT7925) kernel drivers.
